CORONA ANDY & SNOOP

STRATEGY
Miyagi is to LaRusso as Snoop is to Samberg.

OVERVIEW
Enjoying the fine life doesn’t come second nature to all of us. For two years, Snoop had been Corona’s brand ambassador extolling the virtues of the beach. We evolved the construct to move away from Snoop pontificating to camera. Our solution was to create a foil for Snoop - someone he could mentor on the values of relaxation, optimism, and drinking beers. That foil became Andy Samberg.

EXECUTION
With that kind of firepower, the jokes had to hit. We tapped Neal Brennan as our director and brought him into the process early. We turned the creative team into a writer’s room with Neal to mine the best jokes possible.

PROCESS
We shot in the middle of the pandemic with two celebrities with demanding schedules. To pull it off we shot plates of the beach in Puerto Rico, and the fellas on a green screen in Burbank. So basically we created the beach.
